PAWS - Σύλλογος Προστασίας Ζώων Πάρου

PAWS, Φιλοζωική Πάρου

PAWS aims to reduce the production of unwanted dogs, rehome existing ones, control the populations of stray cats and improve the quality of life of animals on Paros Island. Ultimately this will improve our quality of life as well.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ο σύλλογος PAWS στοχεύει στην μείωση της παραγωγής ανεπιθύμητων σκυλιών, στην επανα-στέγαση των υπάρχων, στον έλεγχο των πληθυσμών αδέσποτων γατών και στην βελτίωση της ποιότητας ζωής των ζώων στην Πάρο. Τελικά αυτά να αναβαθμίσουν και την δικιά μας ποιότητα ζωής!
Τι γίνεται στον χώρο των ζώων στην Πάρο? – What’s on in the animal scene of Paros?
ACTIVITIES IN MARCH: Rescued 19 stray dogs - including 9 pups - and transferred them to the animal shelter in Tripiti; rehomed 11 dogs to Germany; sterilized 24 stray cats (18 females and 6 males).
RESIGNATIONS: PAWS regrets the resignations of three board members during March and April: Barbara Buerki, Nadine Davidoff and Lena Yacoumopoulou. Barbara began rescuing stray dogs in 2001 and has rehomed some 1000 since then. She leaves behind a viable working plan for the rehoming… Continue
We expect March to be busier as the mating season comes into full swing.Vet Andonis Lambrou will sterilise cats that are almost ready to give birth. Have you noticed that there are practically no stray dogs in Paros? No, it’s not because less animals are being abandoned here than elsewhere in Greece. The reason is that Barbara Buerki rehoming program, begun in 2001, has… Continue
Please...Please...respond to the December 7th request for temporary fostering of dogs. There is also a more recent request on the blog; www.blog.paws.gr Until the spring visitors and supporters return to the island, Barbara and Biggie are overwhelmed. It is a simple and heartfelt gesture to take in a dog for a brief period of time. You are not making a lifelong commitment to this animal but simply providing temporary shelter. You are also offering support and relief to two women who continue their selfless dedication to re-homing the unwanted animals of Paros. Thank you.
