The newly founded Pirate Party of Greece is holding an introductory meeting on Syros, this Friday 23 March at Hotel Nissaki at 17:30.

2 excellent news:
1- The General Urban Plan of Paros has been finally approved yesterday.
2- The decree on the protection of small wetlands in the Aegean is also finally approved: it includes the protection of 8 wetlands of Paros and Antiparos.
Does greece finally enters the age of reason?

You can download the plan as it was aproved by the municipality of Paros in 2008. Apparently very few changes were made.…

Η Ευρωβουλευτής Daciana Sarbu μόλις ανακοίνωσε στο Ευρωπαϊκό Κοινοβούλιο ότι 369 συνολικά Ευρωβουλευτές υπέγραψαν υπέρ της Γραπτής Δήλωσης για τα σκυλιά στην ΕΕ. Αυτό σημαίνει ότι τώρα αποτελεί Απόφαση και θα ξεκινήσει η (μακρά) διαδικασία διαβουλεύσεων στην ΕΕ που ελπίζουμε ότι θα οδηγήσει σε θετικό…

How can we who love Paros stop these things when both the police and the perpetrators think that this is acceptable behavior?

On the same theme - would it be possible for someone - maybe the Museum - to organise guided tours/ lectures in English about the antiquities of Paros ? There is so much here but it is very difficult for English speakers to obtain any knowledge. This could be of interest to tourists as well as residents. Maybe it could even run through the winter and not stop at the end of September ?
