Another community service project

It is great to see the community service being provided by the Indiana University students. Cleaning beaches and providing signage on the walking trails is hard work with well deserved results. May I suggest another area for future community service projects? That would be cleaning up the park adjacent to the Church of Panagia Ekatontapyliani (Church of 100 Doors). This oasis in the heart of Parikia has fallen on tough times and the neglect is heartbreaking. I often walk through this park on my… Continue

Bravo Peter!

I agree completely with your observation. It is important to eat seasonally and to eat locally. The produce, wild herbs, honey and other products available on Paros are amazing......and healthy. And the carbon footprint is minimal. Living in Colorado at 8500 feet really limits the selection of fresh vegetables that are grown locally so when on Paros I am in heaven! Blondie

Hi Karen,
Good to hear from you again. Glad you are still in contact with your cousins. Ran into Steve at the White Market in Lyndonville about 5 years ago. He approached and asked "are you Eric Long"? We talked for a short time by the meat department and said goodbye.
Last time I remember Peter I think he was still in diapers. I think he now owns most of the NEK.
Great memories I have of Elliot St. and Centerview Terrace. Often think of Tim and how great a friend he was. Think of you and wish I wasn't so shy. Do you remember when I came to spend a couple of days after christmas when you lived in NH? I traveled with Janet D. and Ellen S. Tim and I shared the same bed. You girls snuck in to our room and (unless my memory is bad) you claimed to have kissed me. I was really not asleep.
Loved going to Crystal Lake with you guys. Early morning dips and spending the rest of the day being scared of your mother.
Spend most of my time on Cape Cod. Been here for forty years altough I claim home to be Newark. Live with my dog "Jack" who also wants to move to Newark on a permanent basis.
I wish you would make it one of the academy reunions. Everybody still remembers you and you are considered one of our graduating class.
Nice talking again,

Hi Karen(Blondie)again,
You look great in your pic. That must have been taken 35 years ago. I made an effort to look you up because I had a tip that you were called "Blondie" and did very well in the Boston Marathon. That is how I came across your site. I'm glad your doing well. Appears you have a very active life. Congrats to your dad on his 90th. My dad just turned 85 & has been living in Hawaii for 20 years. My mother died in 1990. My brother tim lives in Washington state and sister michal lives and works in Boston. Spend most of my time on Cape Cod although consider Newark as home. Got married once and had a daughter. She will be 21 in May. Lot's of fond memories of our neighborhood. I'm still in close contact with Bruce and Richard Hazen. Glad we made contact after nearly half a century. Take care and hope to hear from you soon.

Eric
