The Sweat Lodge Ceremony is a transforming experience, aimed at purifying both body and mind.
Benoit is performing the Sweat Lodge of the Great White Mother Bear. Sitting in a dark & steaming small tepee (Native American tent), heated with fire-heated stones, one goes through a journey, physically and mentally. On the physical level, it removes toxins from the body, increases the functioning of internal organs and cleanses the breathing system. On the mental level, it takes one through intellectual and emotional barriers, eliminating old patterns and stuck energies, opening the hearts and the boundless inner energy source we all carry inside. Moving out of the ceremony, one is full of acceptance and love, for the entire creation, be it humans, animals, plants or anything else that surrounds us.
The preparations for the ceremony are an integral part of it: we all gather shortly before sunset, completing together the preparations of the tepee and the fire. After dark, we enter the steaming tepee for about 2 hours, and after going out we all share a light meal.
It is recommended to eat lightly on the ceremony day, mainly fruits & vegetables, to drink a lot of water and to avoid nicotine and caffeine as much as possible.
